if this is really hellmuth this was just stupid.....no way he goes all-in with the Q knowing the guy only calls with a hand that beats him........
Phil's move was a tad "overbet" but it's the correct move in a loose-aggressive online game. When Helmuth went all-in *knowing* the guy only calls with a hand that beats him is a correct play. And I'm confused in what you're trying to say b/c the guy never had him beat when Helmuth went all-in. Helmuth flopped a Queen high flush and the other guy flopped a nutflush "draw".
When Helmuth overbet the pot on the flop, he was offering the other guy a risk of $6,558 to win a $7,558 pot ... which is pretty much 1.2 - 1 odds. No way in hell should the guy call 1.2-1 odds on a 3.5-1 chance (unseen cards) of hitting the hand.
So Bad-Beat, yes ... Over-bet, yes ... Donkey move in a loose-aggressive game, most definitely not.
So I'm still a tad confused on your explanation of why Helmuth made a donkey move? Did you misread the hand and think Helmuth only had a Queen high or did you think he moved all-in on the turn (which he didn't, of course)?
