That's how I see it too. He was protecting the better hand. Ok over protecting, but he had the best hand and odds to win at the time of the all-in.

well somehow i hit the reply button before i finished my question and it wouldnt let me add it afterwards and now i dont feel like typing the whole thing over again...but as ive said before im a Pro in posting handle name only, i should leave my commentary out of hands like this i guess but still i dont see where phil could have thought he had the best hand when he pushed.....the other guy raised pre flop then bet the flop fairly strong, Phil put him on J high at this point????? re raise a lil to make sure he had what he was representing yea but all-in with a Q high flush just dont seem +EV to me
I completely agree with the +EV not being there b/c like I said it was an overbet; however, I don't think Phil was really thinking about equity in a loose-aggressive game. The pot size was at around $1500 when Phil moved all-in and I think he was just trying to take the pot down there. And actually, with the percentages, I wouldn't mind getting all my money in. Would I over-bet like that, no.
